HOW TO GET AND APPLY FOR YOUR SECURITY LICENSE?

STEP ONE:
TAKE A SECURITY GUARD COURSE:

Hamilton (Toronto) GTA Security Training Academy offers the mandatory online Ontario security guard training for you to obtain your Ontario security guard license. You can make payment and start online in just 5 minutes!

STEP 2:
TAKE A FIRST AID CLASS:

Our massive 2000 square foot training facility at 479 Upper Paradise Road in Hamilton allows you to take your emergency first aid and CPR course in Hamilton. We offer EMERGENCY FIRST AID AND CPR LEVEL C (8 chapters of first aid)!

STEP THREE:
TAKE OUR PRACTICE EXAM:

Our practice exam is at the end of Chapter 13 and comprises of 96 questions. You must get at least 70% to pass this examination. All questions are multiple choice and can include diagrams, photos, or videos to aid you. If you are unsuccessful, don’t worry! You get unlimited tries until you pass!

STEP 4:
WRITE THE MINISTRY EXAM:

As of January 19, 2021, all Ministry examinations are conducted online! Yes it’s true: All Ontario security guard Ministry examinations are now conducted online in the comfort of your own home! There is no need to attend a drive test centre anymore. The cost per booking is $67.50 + HST payable to the Ministry (Serco Canada).

STEP FIVE
APPLY FOR YOUR LICENSE:

All license applications are handled by ServiceOntario. We will teach you how to apply online, which is much faster than through mail. This application form is needed to process your license card, and to conduct criminal record background checks. A temporary license can be printed off when it is approved.

STEP SIX:
WORK AS A SECURITY GUARD!

Congratulations! You are officially licensed as an Ontario Security Guard and can work as a security guard anywhere in Ontario! During the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a huge surge in security guard demand, due to the amount of Covid-19 checkpoints needed at the front of every store that can open.
